Add the D-BEAM for performance theatrics and you have a versatile synth. THey ave a built in voice canceler that give mixed. finally you can plug in an 1/8 inch mini plug from your itouch to play along with your music. yo have midi in, midi out and midi thru which is need for my set up. You can add a formated usb memeory jump drive to save an additonal 64 patches (there is no way save more than 64 user patches on the USB card though). Now, beware that all of those knobs and sliders do not output mid CC's so it may not be a good midi-controller ( I use the Novation 49SL MK2 as my main midi controller). The only issue is that what you're recording is at 44.1 and 16 bit which some may feel the need for 48k and 24 bit. THis is like having a Gaia VST! It's just too easy to record what you're playing in Maschine.

THe built in USB audio capability will allow you to set the Gaia driver as your audio source in Maschine and just sample the audio out through Maschine. Roland fixed the problem of not being able to turn of the GM set that is built in on midi channels 2 thru 16 (yeahhhh!).
It is very tweekable, if you're into that kind of hands-on programability.
Listen to me! I have the Gaia, and it is an excellent synth for the price.
